2011 Cottonwood Art Festival ~ Richardson ~ October 1st & 2nd

Mark your calendars for the 43rd annual Richardson’s Cottonwood Art Festival,  Oct. 1-2nd.  Over 240 artists will be showing their pieces in fun-filled outdoor setting — ‘There’s An Art To Having Fun!’ All artists will be there and available to discuss their work. The little ones will love the mini-Monet area, an interactive area with paintbrushes and more for the kids.

This event has been rated the fifth-best art festival in the United States, and is the premier fine arts event in North Texas! Head over from  9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, October 1-2. Full details and directions at http://www.cottonwoodartfestival.com. This is a rain or shine event. Parking and admission to the Cottonwood Art Festival are free. Some children’s events require a fee. The artist’s works are available for purchase. Food and drink are also on sale.

Cottonwood Art Festival is a juried show and this year approximately 1,000 artists submitted their work for consideration. Jurors selected only 240 artists to exhibit their museum-quality work. Artists competed in 16 fine art/fine crafts categories: 2-D Mixed Media, 3-D Mixed Media, Clay, Decorative Fiber, Glass, Jewelry, Metal, Oil, Watercolor, Drawing/Pastel, Photography, Printmaking, Sculpture, Wearable Fiber, Wood and Leather. All works are museum-quality.
