State Fair of Texas ~ $2 Admission on Wednesdays With Canned Food Donation

North Texas Food Bank is kicking off “It’s a Fair Deal” with Kroger beginning this Wednesday. Admission to the State Fair of Texas is only $2 on Wednesdays with donation of three cans of food. Every Wednesday (Oct. 5, 12 and 19) fairgoers will receive discounted $2 State Fair admission with the donation of three canned or other nonperishable food items at the gate. Look for the trucks at the Pennsylvania & Lagow Pedestrian Entrance (adjacent to media lot).

NTFB and Kroger are challenging fairgoers to help fill the equivalent of at least 10 food trucks to help the organization feed hungry North Texans with nutritious meals. The goal is to beat last year’s record-setting 177,558 pounds of food donated – equal to nearly 140,000 meals. Every day of the year, NTFB provides access to about 90,000 nutritious meals — feeding enough people to nearly fill
