Looks like it is going to be a super busy weekend! So much to do! This is my second post about this weekend activities!!!

:: FREE Celebrate Roanoke Music and Family Fun Festival

The little town of Roanoke is quickly becoming the rising star of the Metroplex. With a complete Downtown renovation, the addition of several top-rated restaurants, and ~ of course ~ Babe’s Chicken, it’s definitely a great spot to put on the list of fun places to visit! And, this weekend is a great time to make that happen!

This Saturday, the city of Roanoke has planned a family friendly Celebrate Roanoke festival that includes: all day live music, climbing walls, bounce houses, old-fashioned carnival games, and various street entertainment like jugglers, clowns, and old west gun-fight shows. The festivities will close with a fabulous fireworks display

:: Enjoy a Day in Dallas at the Texas State Fair    Now through October 23, 2011
This is the 2nd weekend of the month-long State Fair of Texas in Dallas which runs now through October 23. There are literally hundreds of entertainment choices and music performances throughout the month including many well-known names like the Randy Travis and Jack Ingram. There is something for everyone!

:: FREE 2011 Fall Arts Goggle Street Festival ~ Near SouthsideSaturday, October 8, 2011
Head over to Arts Goggle, the free celebration of art and music in Fort Worth in the near Southside area. This family friendly event will feature live music, a variety of artisans displaying and selling their work, plus food and fun activities for the kids.  Over 75 businesses in the Near Southside area will be participating as art venues.

:: FREE Nash Farm Fall Round-up in Grapevine    Saturday, October 8, 2011
Get a taste of farm life just steps away from the heart of the city. Historic Nash Farm in Grapevine is hosting a FREE Fall Family Fun Round-up and Harvest Festival. There will be a full day of activities for all, including pony rides, hay rides, a petting zoo, cotton picking, a stick-pony rodeo and more.  Food will be available for purchase, too.

:: FREE Experience Fort Worth’s Heritage at the Great Trail
Drive Along the Chisholm Trail

Experience the excitement of a true Texas trail drive where riders, both on horseback and in wagons, will herd longhorns down the Chisholm Trail, along the Trinity River to downtown Fort Worth, and back.  The fun begins in the Fort Worth Stockyards at 9:00AM on Saturday.
“The Great Trail Drive” is part of a Rocky Top Therapy Center benefit.  Rocky Top is a not-for-profit organization which provides therapeutic riding programs for children and adults with disabilities.

:: Take a FREE Cooking Technique Class at Williams-Sonoma
October 9, 2011

In this weekend’s cooking technique class, Williams Sonoma will show you how to make a tender stew in under 30 minutes using a pressure cooker, as well as teach you how to make a delicious stew that simmers all day in a slow cooker.

Note: You’ll want to call to reserve your spot since class size is limited.
