There are oodles of special Veterans Day events and sales happening in the coming days. Plus, in honor of our veterans, many restaurants, retailers, and other venues are offering up really great Veterans Day FREEBIES and discounts just for veterans and active military service members. Note that many of these discounts extend beyond Veterans Day, November 11th and some are even offered year round! Most require proof of military service (we’ve tried to provide details where possible, but you might want to call to be sure).

Eat FREE at Applebee’s ~ November 11, 2011Military veterans and active-duty service members will be able to eat for free at any Applebee’s across the U.S. on Veterans Day, Friday, November 11. There will be seven entrée choices on the FREE menu, and guests will be asked to show proof of military service. A complete listing of all Applebee’s locations is available at applebees.com.

FREE Burger at Champps Americana. ~ November 11, 2011Champps is celebrating our Veterans and Active Military by providing a FREE burger meal on November 11th! Proof of military service required and offer not valid for the Pepperjack Bacon Stack Burger or Kobe Burger. Dine in only, valid at participating  locations. Find a Champps location near you, here.

FREE Meal at Chili’s ~ November 11, 2011Chilis is offering a FREE meal to all veterans and active duty personnel on Friday, November 11th.  Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of meals from a special menu. This offer is available from 11am – 5pm on November 11, 2011 at  participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Beverages and gratuity are not included. Denny’s Veterans Day Appreciation Event ~ November 11 2011.
Denny’s is giving away a FREE Grand Slam breakfast to any veteran from 6:00am – 2:00pm. Not every location in the U.S. is participating, so be sure to call  ahead.  Go here to find a location and contact info.

FREE Appetizer & Drink at Outback Steakhouse ~ November 11, 2011As an expression of Outback Steakhouse’s appreciation to our Country’s veterans and active duty military, they are giving a FREE Bloomin’ Onion and cokes on Veterans Day to those with a valid military ID (one of the following  forms of identifications: U.S Uniform Services Identification Card, U.S Uniform  Services Retired Identification Card, Current Leave and Earnings Statement, DD form 214 Veterans Organization Card, Photograph in Uniform, or wearing uniform. Go here for more details. Subway – Free 6-Inch Sub ~ November 11, 2011Many Subway locations are giving away a free six-inch sub sandwich to military veterans on Veteran’s Day. Be sure to check with your local Subway restaurant to make sure they are participating (they are franchises, so this offer may not be available at all locations). Must show military I.D. card or proof of service at time of purchase.

Texas Roadhouse FREE lunch ~ Friday, November 11, 2011Texas Roadhouse locations across the country will provide a free lunch and beverage (from 11am to 2pm) to honor the men and women of our armed  forces. Eat FREE at Golden Corral ~ Monday, November 14, 2011Golden Corral’s 10th annual Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011, from 5 to 9 pm in all Golden Corral restaurants nationwide. FREE Wedding Gown for Military Brides!I love this FREEBIE ~ so fantastic on so many levels!! Select stores across the U.S. are offering military brides FREE wedding gowns through the non-profit group, Brides Across America. Colonial Williamsburg FREE Admission ~ November 11-13, 2011Colonial Williamsburg honors active duty military, guard and reservists, retirees, veterans and their dependents with free admission passes on the following dates: Nov. 11-13.  The complimentary ticket includes admission to the Colonial Williamsburg exhibition sites, art museums, daytime programs, as well as free parking.  Appropriate military identification is required.  Learn more here.

If you know a Veteran, someone in your family, a friend or neighbor who served their country, take a moment of your day to thank them for the sacrifice they made for our country. I am so very thankful for every service member in our military who has served our great nation. So, to the men and women who answered the call in both times of war and peace, I thank you for your courage, honor, and commitment.
