5 Fun, Budget Friendly Halloween Snack Ideas!


Planning a Halloween party for the kids this year?   If the answer is yes, then I’m sure finding creative, yummy snacks is on your to-do list.  Well, look no further.  Here are five budget-friendly, kid-approved recipes that are sure to be eerily good! Pumpkin Pie Dip

  • 1 Package cream cheese, 8 ounce, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 cup canned pumpkin
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • ½ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cup frozen whipped cream, thawed
  • ginger snaps, apple slices, cinnamon graham crackers
  • 1 pumpkin
Directions
1.  In a large bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth.
2.  Add in the canned pumpkin, sour cream, cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice and ground ginger and mix well.
3.  Fold in thawed whipped cream.
4.  Add dip into carved out Pumpkin
5.  Serve with ginger snaps, apple slices and graham crackers.

Popcorn Witches

What you will need: 
  • Popcorn
  • Green cling wrap
  • Waxed black twine
  • Green and black construction paper
  • Micro hole punch
  • White craft glue
  • Stapler
  • Standard hole punch
Directions:
1.  Wrap a ball of popcorn in green cling wrap and tie with a 6 inch piece of black twine.
2.  Trace circles and triangles for the hats onto black construction paper and cut out.  Fold the triangle into a cone and staple.  Punch a small hole on each side of the cone.  Also punch a small hole on each side of the circle, right outside where the cone will fit on top of it.
3.  Place circle (hat brim) on top of popcorn and pull twine through the two holes.  Next place cone on top of the circle and pull twine through those two holes.  Knot the twine in the front of the hat.
4.  Using the green construction paper, make noses and attach with glue.
5.  Use the standard hole punch with the black paper to make eyes.  Attach the eyes with glue.

Ghost Pretzels

 Ingredients:
  • 15 pretzel rods, 7 inches long
  • 40 mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or melting chocolate
Directions:
1. In a glass measuring cup, microwave white chocolate until smooth.
2. Dip three inches of pretzel rods into chocolate and place on a wax-lined cookie sheet.
3. While the chocolate is wet, arrange three mini chocolate chips per pretzel as eyes and mouth.
4.  Let dry for 30 minutes or until firm.

Cheese Fingers


Ingredients:
  • Mozzarella string cheese
  • Almond slices
  • Cream cheese
Directions: 
1.  Wear plastic gloves to avoid smudging the cheese.
2.  Use a paring knife to cut each stick in half and scoop out an indentation for the “fingernail” on the round end of each half.
3.  Make small horizontal slices in the cheese to form the knuckle joint and the joint below the nail.
4.  Stick almond slices onto indentation with a dab of cream cheese.

Ghost Poop

What You will need:

  • Marshmallows
  • Little Baggies
  • Paper with the Words “Ghost Poop”

Directions:

1.  Fill a small bag with white marshmallows.
2.  Staple the Ghost Poop paper to the bags!
