:: 29th Annual Chesapeake Energy Parade of Lights and Visit

Sundance Square ~ Downtown Fort Worth
Head Downtown for the 29th Annual Christmas Parade of Lights
Downtown Fort Worth’s skyline will provide a stunning background for the lights and sounds of the 29th Annual Chesapeake Energy Parade of Lights Friday evening, November 25. Join the thousands of spectators as they line the sidewalks to see more than 100 brilliantly colored floats, beautiful antique cars, marching bands, equestrian units, horse-drawn carriages, and a cast of delightful holiday characters including the most lovable pair of all – Mrs. Claus and Santa!

Visit Santa at Sundance Square
The jolly old elf will be waiting to hear Christmas wishes at his home near the towering Sundance Square Christmas tree, adorned with thousands of lights, colorful balls and sparkling snowflakes. Kids can get their picture taken with Santa too! Free entertainment and live Christmas music will be performed
throughout the day and evening (see the entertainment schedule here).

The annual event, held on Main Street in Historic Downtown Grapevine, features Santa, jolly Christmas characters, complimentary hay rides, decorations adorning the mile-long stretch of Main Street, and much more!

:: FREE! 51st Anniversary ~ Littlest Wiseman Christmas Pageant
    December 3-11, 2011
The Fort Worth Academy of Fine Arts performs The Littlest Wiseman, a pageant of the Nativity and presented as a Christmas gift to the community by the Dorothy Shaw Bell Choir and through a grant from the Walsh Foundation. This gift to Fort Worth has been in production for over 50 years and is an annual tradition for many families. Tickets are FREE, but it is recommended that you make reservations in advance.

The Southwestern Seminary Master Chorale, Southwestern Singers and Orchestra will present the First Annual Christmas at Southwestern on Thursday, December 1.  The concert will feature Christmas carols, John Rutter’s Magnificat and G.F. Handel’s Messiah. This is the same Master Chorale that performs with the Fort Worth Symphony at the Bass a few days later.

Saturdays, December 10 & 17, 2011
Enjoy an afternoon on the Boulevard during Camp Bowie Christmas. Adults and children alike will have a jolly good time at this family friendly event, complete with Santa and his “Reinsteer,” carolers and holiday cheer!  Admission is free for all, but an unwrapped toy donation for Toys for Tots is encouraged. Family friendly activities will include: a gingerbread house competition between DFW’s celebrity chefs (including Food Network regular, Chef Catherine Ruehle), side-street performers and live entertainment, face painting, delectable holiday treats, and many more merrymaking festivities for the family.

The Tornado’s have two games this weekend. While both are sure to be entertaining, Saturday’s game at 7:30 will have some extra-special flare. First of all, Saturday is the Tornado Halloween Spooktacular. All children 14 and under who come dressed in a costume will get in for free, and we’ll also be holding a Best Costume Competition during one of the intermissions. But make sure you stick around for the entire game, because after it’s over there will also be a postgame skate with the Tornado players. You can either bring your own skates, or rent them from the front lobby of Dr Pepper Arena for $3.

Sunday, October 30 is the closing day celebration of Art in October in the DallasArts District. Boo at the Zoo is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year! This fun family event will feature events, games, trick-or-treating, and the most popular attraction: Zoo animals! Daytime event hours will make the entire Zoo open to Boo at the Zoo guests, allowing keepers to incorporate themed activities into the animal exhibits throughout the entire park.
